FILTER VENTILATION UNIT CFS-20
The filter ventilation unit (FVU) and filter ventilation unit (FVA) of the CFS-20 model from the “Protect” series are designed and used for cleaning, heating and supplying atmospheric air into the room, and have two operating modes: ventilation and filter ventilation. They are used to ventilate inhabited areas of facilities, provide air to the personnel located in them, as well as create excess pressure (backpressure), which prevents the penetration of external contaminated air through leaks in structures. In the filter ventilation mode, the air supplied to the room is cleaned not only of dust, but also of combat toxic substances (CTS), highly toxic substances (TS), radioactive dust (RD), biological aerosols (BA).
An additional option in the form of a backup power system makes the system as reliable as possible even during power outages, man-made disasters or natural disasters.
Each CFS-20 filter ventilation unit is equipped with an automation system. This automated control system is designed specifically for the “Protect” series filter ventilation systems, and monitors the condition and quality of the air at the inlet to the unit and in the room according to many parameters. The response speed of the automation when switching from the “Ventilation” mode to “Filter ventilation” and vice versa is less than 1.5 seconds.
It is possible to connect to an existing air duct system or use it independently to supply clean air to the room.
The design features of the “Protect” series filter ventilation units allow for convenient transportation of the unit without the use of special equipment, since the unit is collapsible, consists of modules and assemblies, the installation of which does not require special
skills and tools. This allows the filter ventilation unit to be installed in existing shelters by assembling on site and ensures quick dismantling if necessary.

COMPARISON WITH EXISTING ANALOGUES
In the post-Soviet space, including in Ukraine, there are many shelters and storage facilities equipped with old-style units manufactured in the last century, such as FVU-100/50 or FVA-100/50 (Figure 1).
