Explosion-proof devices are designed to protect ventilation systems from long-duration blast waves. These devices automatically, under the action of a shock wave, cover ventilation shafts, providing reliable protection against the penetration of the blast wave into the shelter and preventing damage to internal life support systems.
The term explosion-proof devices refers to protective grilles (such as UZR, MZR or their analogues, which each manufacturer calls in its own way), as well as a mounting box for installing the grille. The box can be designed for installation on an air intake, in a wall or directly in the ventilation duct.
